All our Asbestos Surveyors are P402 trained and follow the MDHS100 regulations issued by the (HSE) Health & Safety Executive ("Methods for the Determination of Hazardous Substances").
We carry out three different types of Asbestos Survey:
Type 1 - Location and Assessment survey (presumptive survey)
As the name suggests, the purpose of the survey is to locate (as far as
reasonably practicable) the presence of any asbestos material and assess
condition.
This does not involve any sampling and analysis of suspect material.
Type 2 - Standard sampling, identification and assessment survey
(sampling survey)
The purpose and procedures used in this survey are the same as for Type 1,
except that surveyor collects samples and sends these off to be independently
analysed by a UKAS-accreditor organisation.
Type 3 - Full access sampling and identification survey
This is normally conducted prior to demolition and major refurbishment work.
This is the most intrusive of the three types of survey and involves
destructive inspection of the property to identify asbestos material that is
otherwise normally hidden, as well as performing the work involved in a Type 2
survey.
All reports are issued within 14 days of the survey being completed. A hard copy format of the report is sent, but is also available in electronic format on CD.
